The AITAA was formed in 1969, to bring together alumni of AIT and foster mutual understanding and engagement between alumni and the Institute. The Australia Chapter is one of its National/Regional Chapters. According to a directory of chapters (as of June 2021) the Australia chapter had elected officers: President Dr Kamal Uddin (1996/HSD), Vice-President Dr. Shahryar Wahid (2008/SERD) and others. The chapter falls under the governance framework set out by AITAA – including membership criteria, election of officers, submission of annual reports, and representation at the Governing Board Meeting (GBM).
