ABOUT US

History

The Asian Institute of Technology Alumni Association (AITAA) was formed in 1969 to develop mutual understanding among the alumni, and between them and the Institute.

- 1970 – First official Chapters formed: Thailand, Republic of China, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

- Over the decades, AITAA expanded into a global network of 28 National and Regional Chapters.

- In 2019, during the 48th Governing Board Meeting in Bangkok (coinciding with AIT’s 60th Anniversary), the revised AITAA Statutes and - - Chapter Governance Guidelines were ratified to strengthen governance and collaboration.

- By 2021, the association had grown to include 25,000+ alumni across 101 countries and territories.

To be a global community where alumni proudly uphold the AIT spirit, sharing values, experiences, and mutual support through a strong international network.

Mission

To strengthen and deepen the relationships among AIT alumni, supporting the continuous growth and development of:

1. The Institute (AIT)

2. The alumni body

3. Society at large

Objectives
  • To enhance relationships among alumni and continual interaction of the alumni with AIT

  • To enhance the reputation and integrity of AIT through diligent application of knowledge acquired through the alumni’s experiences at AIT to benefit society

  • To promote and support AIT to accomplish its mission

Activities & Contributions
  • Annual Governing Board Meeting (GBM)

  • Seminars, webinars, and innovation forums

  • Networking activities, both virtual and in-person

  • Sports and social events (e.g., bowling and golf tournaments)

  • Recognition programs such as Distinguished Alumni Awards and Honorary Memberships

  • Graduation Prizes for outstanding students from each AIT school
