Ms. Amekali Chishi, recipient of the AIT Alumni Scholarship for the August 2024 intake
Following the announcement made at the 53rd AIT Alumni Association Governing Board Meeting (AITAA GBM), AIT Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs (OAAA) and AITAA will collaborate to secure funding from alumni to support students with scholarships, enhance student infrastructure, improve school laboratories, fund conference participation, and more.
One such occasion took place on 13 February 2025, where the scholarship certificate was formally presented to Ms. Amekali Chishi, a Master's student from India. She is enrolled in the Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology program at the Department of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources, School of Environment, Resources, and Development, and has been honored with the prestigious AIT Alumni Scholarship for the August 2024 intake.
Dr. Donald M. Ugsang, President of the AIT Alumni Association (AITAA), congratulated Ms. Chishi and emphasized the importance of such scholarships in supporting the academic journeys of talented students and the role of alumni in fostering future leaders.
Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director of AIT Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs (OAAA), also congratulated Ms. Chishi and expressed confidence that this scholarship would not only aid in her studies but also inspire her to reach greater heights in her academic and professional pursuits.
Ms. Chishi expressed her gratitude for the scholarship, highlighting how it would serve as a strong motivator for her to continue striving towards her academic and career goals with even more determination and focus. She thanked the AIT Alumni Association and the AIT Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs for their support and encouragement especially the alumni donors for the scholarship.
The ceremony was attended by members of the AITAA Executive Committee: Dr. Zakir M. Hossain, Executive Secretary; Md. Anishur Rahman, Public Relations Officer; Mr. Win Myint Thein, Program Officer and Ms. Lucena D. Talaid, Senior Alumni Affairs Officer in the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs.
